How Was Your Week Survey
We always attempt to gather information from staff in order that when decisions are made, they take into account the feedback and ideas that our staff contribute.
In recent months, and exacerbated by the COVID pandemic, we have been very cognizant of the feedback regarding staff support and how best to do justice to it. we believe communication is the key to ensuring people receive the support they need, when they need it. This process is often compromised due to the "they didn't ask" versus "we didn't ask them" phenomenon. That is to say, we need a mechanism that does justice to us all, and allows us as a company to be available in a meaningful way, whilst allowing staff to let us know when they need additional support.
So...Active Steps has implemented a simple system where each week staff receive a text asking to rate how their week has gone at work. The system is very simple and takes approximately 30 seconds to complete. During the response, you receive an instant response to your rating which then provides the opportunity to request additional support with the touch of the screen on your smartphone.
When completed, if you have requested we make contact, we will be notified and follow up with you as soon as possible.
To provide some incentive to complete the 30 second process, each of the staff submissions will go into a draw to win a $100 gift card. The more you respond, the better the chance of winning the card.

Our Process
Staff RecruitmentBy providing an applicant with good information about the people we work with and specifics regarding the work we do, we improve the "fit" between them and the job they will be performing. This has been shown to contribute to improved outcomes and increase "continuity of care". Without this, treatment plans are compromised and the probability of extended treatment times and resource utilization is increased. By better assuring staffing is consistent, behavioral treatment programs have the best chance of success.

Background CheckingWe take every precaution to help ensure a family member receiving treatment is safe and secure in the hands of an Active Steps staff person. Active Steps uses the latest background checking technology by partnering with Comprehensive Screening Solutions (CSS) who are expert in ensuring staff candidates are efficiently and expertly screened for criminal, arrest, incarceration, and sex offender records. Furthermore, each record is continuously monitored and we are alerted if there is a change in status at any time. |
Training & CredentialingOnce we have recruited the best people, they need to see that they have a meaningful career path. Without this, an individual is less likely to commit long term to the organization and our clients. We work with Optimus Education to provide our organization with approved coursework for staff to become credentialed as Behavior Technicians-Level One.
The Behavior Technician-Level One program prepares candidates with a strong basic foundation in the concepts and principles of applied behavior analysis within the context of autism treatment and person centered approaches. The course provides the foundation for the next steps in advanced education and training in ABA and autism. |
